Red, White and Chocolate Cookies

3/4 cup all-purpose
flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup cocoa
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white baking chips
1/3 cup coarsely chopped dried tart cherries
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Place into pint jar. Layer remaining
ingredients into jar in order listed, firmly packing the brown sugar.

For Red, White and Chocolate Cookies:
1 pint jar Red, White and Chocolate Cookie Mix
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon cherry extract
Preheat oven to 325º F. Remove walnuts,
dried cherries and white baking chips from jar, combining in a small bowl; set
aside. Beat butter in a large bowl until creamy. Add dry ingredients from jar,
mixing until well blended.
Beat in egg and cherry extract. Gently stir in walnuts, dried cherries and white
baking chips. Drop by level tablespoon onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake
at 325º F for 14 to 16 minutes.
Makes about 1 1/2 dozen 2-inch
